Herbal Medicine 101

  • Rainbow Natural Remedies 409 15th Avenue East Seattle, WA, 98112 United States (map)

Are you curious about herbs and herbal medicine, but don't know where to begin? Maybe you have taken a couple of classes, or dabbled with herbs, but want to learn more of the basics?

In this 2-hour class, we will discuss ethics, differences in types of preparations of herbs and how to use them, storage & materials, how to understand literature (what is a Materia Medica and how do I understand looking up information about herbs), properties & actions of herbs, resources and a few herbs to start you out with (Nettles, Calendula, Chamomile, Lemon Balm & Oats). This is a great class to help you understand where to begin with herbs and to help you find resources to continue your journey!

Class will be held at Rainbow Natural Remedies in the library/bulk area. Class size is limited to 5 people, and we will be adhering to Rainbow's mask policy when instated. There will be no recording, no refunds, returns or exchanges for tickets. A lot of preparation goes into building these classes, so please respect our time! (Exceptions may be made for illness.)

When you purchase a ticket, it reserves your spot, just be at Rainbow by 11 AM and meet us in the room in the back. There is street parking on 15th Ave, but can be tricky on the weekends, so plan to arrive early for parking.

You will receive a handout during class. Please bring your own cup or water bottle and a pen or pencil to take notes.
